Narcissus 2022 is NOW OUT!

Narcissus 2022 is Lucia Dalenz's first art catalogue, a collection of personal stories, reflections and deep feelings to visually dive into.

‘It all started in 2020 and is a mixture of joyful life experiences I have had that I wanted to express and share with the world. The pandemic was an eye-opening experience of what matters most and the memories I want to build and preserve in my mental garden,’ said the artist.

Narcissus is loaded with vibrant colours naturally connected to the artist's Latin American roots and organic forms inspired by nature - the origin of life.

‘I think it’s quite fascinating the connection that humans have with nature. If you think about it, as human beings, we need this energy, which we can only find within nature. You don’t just see nature, you feel and experience it fully, with all your senses involved. That emotion is something I wanted to convey within the collection’.

The catalogue is the result of months of work and offers a wide variety of artistic styles, from abstract to fauvist. It is available in digital format, free of charge.

Art Campaign: International Day for Ending Violence Against Women

Dalenz is the author of the first art campaign of the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights, during the International Day for Ending Violence Against Women (25 November).

The four art pieces were painted at Art Museum of the Americas and currently, are part of the permanent collection of the Organization of American States (OAS) in Washington DC, United States.

Art to Inspire HER

This book was born as a result of Lucía Dalenz's interest in the role of art as a generator of resistance to power relations and orthodox discourses. It is a product of scientific research and her curiosity as an artist and ARTivist in putting the findings into practice.

The project  Art to inspire HER was created as part of her participation as a 2016 - 2017 Global Champion for Women’s Economic Empowerment for UN Women’s Empower Women - which main objective is to encourage women and girls to achieve their economic empowerment of women and become leaders and change makers in their communities. This project embodies the spirit of the fight for women’s rights through a positive approach to women’s potential as entrepreneurs and active participants in national economies.

Through works of art based on the stories of successful women entrepreneurs, this project aims to empower and inspire women that are entering the realm of entrepreneurship. On the other hand, the purpose of this work is also to involve, expose and publicize the talent of emerging Latin American artists.

The online book has been produced in English and Spanish simultaneously.
